There’s pandering and then there’s pandering.
Finally someone significant has realized the power of Pav Bhaji, Momo, Rice+Curry and Aloo Paratha.
Why don’t FIFA invest heavily in India? They might make insane returns once India starts playing World Cup regularly.
Shouldn’t India invest on their own football structure first to show FIFA that they care?
Before anyone gets excited he means that literally, FIFA wants to operate gold mines in India.
Ballon d’ors gotta come from somewhere
Today I feel gold
I imagine Infantino saying this, then smiling big to show that he has 3 gold teeth…
Infantino covered in gold powder literally would look like Gold Dust.
Gold Minger
Kolar FC shirt sponsor FIFA
Lmao sadly this could actually be real news.
FIFA wants to operate gold mines in India.
Ha, smart move. Cut out the middle man and go for the gold directly. More money for FIFA!
Just misspoke, meant “exploited”
This is the best comment I’ve read on Reddit in ages. Well done
He literally wants to explode Indians.
Edit: Fuck I can‘t read, it says explored not explode.
KGFC
Smh, the real value in India is the cheap call centres
Lol at the mods on here.
Casual racism, I can tell that you’re proud of it
“How can we monetise a billion people?” - FIFA
FIFA getting ready to fund the Mars colonisation
china try hard to not be
They will have to fight hard with ICC & BCCI
They really won’t, ICC and BCCI shit all over Indian fans and provide a shit product because they know there is no real competition.
“How can we monetise another billion people?” - FIFA
FTFY
A World Cup in China.
This is what I’m saying! Don’t go back to the Khaleejis for 2034, get in on the Indians or Chinese. So many potential kids to be inspired
Inspiring kids means money into the pockets of future executives. Infantino has a palace in Qatar he needs to maintain. Do you have any idea what kind of maintenance costs that thing has? Feeding slaves ain’t cheap these days. He can’t risk it all on a gamble to inspire someone and make more money in the future. He needs a consistent safe paycheck, and he knows the Saudis pay handsomely and they pay in USD.
I gotta figure out how to make money on this thing, it’s simply too good!
Is that not a good thing? Am I missing something?
It’s a joke lol
FIFA and UEFA would somehow double the amount of fixtures if India starts watching football.
Think the popularity by Son in Korea and multiple the hype by 10
*28
Spurs shall secure ANOTHER country!
Soon all Asia will belong to Spurs
By 10? India is absolutely massive. More like 100x
Indias GDP is about twice that of South Korea. So while the population is a lot larger, the revenue potential isn’t. The hype would be crazy though.
India really needs to move away from cricket. Waiting for the day when football takes over.
Lol
bit of a weird way to phrase it
Indian Football is a gold mine waiting to be exploit… explored!
money from the indian fans to be exploited is what he means
Infantino: “Today, I feel Indian”
r/soccercirclejerk material
They mean gold mine for them to exploit basically
Colonisation 2.0
curry mine
Again, this topic is tiring at this point but nothing will change as long as Indians continue to simply consume the sport and not play it, along with a lack of infrastructure which means poor kids have no way of accessing professional football.
Most of the football fans you see online are, after the establishment of ISL(a much publicized Indian top tier with lot of popular players like Roberto Carlos,Materazzi,Ljungberg,Trezeguet,Malouda which brought in lot of viewership across the country than I league) and Jio(affordable internet). This was around 2015s and most of the guys who started watching football at that time were either in clg and it is impossible to learn the game and became a pro.
Contrary to popular belief, most of the people who pursue sports(other than cricket) in India are from poor or lower middle class background as they see it as an opportunity to get scholarships to colleges or get a government job through sports quota.
