I’ve had my brilliant cut for a few years and it still looks new. And not having to deal with threading is a nice quality of life upgrade. Nice color choice!
The magnetic design is a complete game changer for me, and with the coarse plate its such a quick and smooth grind. Thanks for sharing, its nice to know that others have a good experience with it.
Threading? What’s that?
Most grinders you have to screw together (threaded). The Brilliant Cut Grinder uses magnets to keep the grounds compartment attached. Similar to how most grinders keep the mid plate and top plate together
Oh nice! That sounds really handy. My bottom threaded bit gets gummed up with the good stuff and it’s also a (minor) pain to unscrew sometimes. I’ll look into getting a better grinder, I’m still on an unbranded random one I got as a freebie once.
That said, when I do end up buying a quality grinder I want it to be the final one I ever buy (unless I lose it). Therefore I was considering buying a two part one. Feels like a two part one could conceivably last me forever… right?
EDIT: okay I’m browsing their website now and they look really nice.
the brilliant cut grinders website is actually called grindersforlife.com, they boast that their super strong allumin alloy will truly last a lifetime. However, it is conceivable that the grinder plates may eventually wear out after 25 years of hundreds of thousands of buds which is why they sell them individually just in case. In theory I suppose less parts mean less room for failure points, but if your grinder is modular even if a part does wear out its always easily replaceable.

Just got mine a month ago and it’s fantastic!
how’s it work? does it gum up instantly or get the job done?
So far its fantastic! Very smooth grind. I’ve only used fine ground grinders my whole life so I chose the coarse ground plate for the brilliant cut, and that really makes a huge difference in lowering both the effort and time it takes. I will see how resistant to gumming up it is in the following months but so far have put quite a few g’s of flower in it the past couple days and there’s not even a spot of gunk in the grind plate or top.

From my experience, albeit only a months worth, has been a great experience. It grinds great and spins freely.
