Sounds like someone’s getting fired
The plot twist is, however, that the delinquent (ex-) PI in question, Jeffry Isaacson, is a retired professor since 2022. So they cannot even fire him (or tenure-revoke, hypothetically speaking).
I don’t even think it is the ex-PI’s fault. Once you retire, you’re done. It’s been 2 years. The university should tracking this issue and ask a current employee to address it.
