I think Elon can be a good CEO but he’s split between 2 good companies, Tesla and SpaceX, and one awful one (x/twitter). Note that I don’t think he’s a nice guy, but he can be an effective CEO given the right situation.
That said, social media has ruined him.
Hearing him now vs YouTube videos of him 10-15 years ago - he’s just got a completely different personality which I have seen before with people abusing drugs. I suspect he was ruined without social media from whatever drug problems he has and social media has just allowed him to easily broadcast what he has become.

This does seem to be the case. I hope it isn’t drugs, but something has taken its toll on him over the past few years.
While he might not be a “nice person”, he was certainly a “useful person” at one point, and I hope he can pull through whatever he’s going through and become useful again in the future.
It’s an interesting hypothesis, but would want some corroboration on that before armchair diagnosis about someone’s potential health problems.
@SacralPlexus @Nogami So … you’re saying this is your oligarch on drugs?/genq

Don’t forget the boring company too. And neuralink. And his ai company.
The guy is a walking talking case study in how the job of CEO is a bullshit job that anyone sufficiently far along the psychopath spectrum could do.
They’re the equivalent of ice breaker ships cutting though anything and everything in the pursuit of higher valuation so that little investor ships can follow in their wake.

Don’t forget Neuralink…I’ll let everyone categorize it as they see fit
