Currently Im taking all my notes at work digitally again, after using my trusty Fountain pens for a while, because its just so more convenient.
I really like the thought of taking notes to do lists again on paper. As I seem to better recall written text and I like the attention it takes to think about what to write down and how to organize it on paper.
What are tips on note taking systems and notepads which work well with a Fountain pen. This also includes To Do lists and such. Anything good out there or is the digital age just that much better and analog cant compare anymore?
I mostly organise things digitally nowadays, but I did start using Traveler’s Notebook recently for scratch notes and “mind lists”.
Taking quick notes is just so much better and faster when you just jot it down, in my opinion.
And the “mind lists” I keep really help me to commit new concepts to my memory more efficiently. Basically, I keep a list of concepts / fancy words I encounter when reading books, Wikipedia etc, and then periodically revisit them to try and recall what they mean. Makes a world of different for my ability to remember things, as it’s not getting any better with age sadly.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that you can do both: keep some things digitally while still have a meaningful and functional use case for fountain pens :)
I have a notebook dedicated to scratch notes. It’s chaotic but I definitely have better recall and can even remember which pages I wrote specific info on, vs using a digital method (which really makes no sense because it’s so much easier to organize things digitally lol). I also have a planner for listing appointments, meetings, etc. and for my daily to-do lists. I’ve tried different systems, both analog and digital, but this is what works best for me.
