As a hammer main I feel compelled to give this a shot when Wilds comes out. From what I’ve read it seems they are combining the best aspects of World and Rise iterations which sounds really fun. Gonna doot and bonk all the new monsters
I don’t really have a dog in the fight, but I feel like every time I see people say it was too easy they all just never used the echo switch skill. I’ve dabbled in horn since I started the series and that’s how it always played. Rise was just faster and had QoL. I guess the simpler songs are generally frowned upon?
Aside: I believe it was a mistranslation or mislabeling of the two modes since echo should have been double note input and recital should have been the dedicated song button, not vice versa.

It does seem like a mashup of styles and that interests me. I really enjoyed rise horn so I’m hopeful.
Rise horn was fun, but I felt the way songs were played felt a bit too easy.
I agree that it looks like a mix between the two styles, and that sounds like a good thing to me.
