Japan has moon bears. Black with a crescent of white fur on their neck.
They get bigger than 1 meter, but they usually keep to themselves. And it’s illegal to hunt them(endangered).
Wild boars, on the other hand, are a serious problem in Japan.
I learned that from watching Princess Mononoke.
