Recently planted this aquarium with stems and mosses. This long thin green moss-like plant showed up and I like the look of it. Hoping ot is something I can cultivate and use for a hanging vine effect on my driftwood and not a pest plant. Any help is appreciated.

I’d take that last sentence a bit further and say it can definitely be nearly impossible to kill all the way AND can overgrow and become a nuisance.

That said one of my favorite games to play is trying to keep the water balanced such that the Java moss doesn’t get crufted up.

A bajillion shrimp will love your moss.

The moss on the bottom and attached to jhe top is java. I was wondering about the long thin brighter green strand that caught itself on the rest. It has grown quite a bit from when it first showed up floating around the tank before being caught here.

I loved shrimp in this tank. So did the pictus catfish. Lesson learned.
