    I can’t work out why this would be.

    I have only known three Greek people. One was an arrogant little shit that no one could stand, the other was quite bat shit crazy- she sat me down and said ‘are we fliiiirting?’ and I almost spit out my coffee (we were not flirting) and the last told me he didn’t want to hang out any longer cause he thought I was gay (which I guess means he didn’t want to associate with gay people).

      Well, economic austerity leads to the rise of fashism, you can best see it in Germany where this is also happening. The irony is that Germany is at fault for the austerity in Greece because they politically demanded it after the 2008/2009 financial crisis.
