Summary
Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, now supports Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a surveillance tool she opposed in Congress.
Gabbard previously criticized FISA for enabling warrantless data collection that violated Americans’ civil liberties but claims recent reforms have addressed these issues.
She now emphasizes the importance of Section 702 for foreign intelligence gathering while upholding Fourth Amendment rights.
Her stance has drawn mixed reactions from lawmakers, with Republicans largely supportive and Democrats voicing concerns about her independence and approach to civil liberties.
Yeah of course that tool is cooler when you’re the one that gets to play with it rather than be played with.
I like being played with more.
Oh sorry different context
Mendacious loser proves she is mendacious. News at 11.
Thanks for the new word!
Democrats voicing concerns …
Bring me my pearls; I must clutch them!
Kremlin: no we got a 0-day on that, we want that now.
Their 0-day is Trump. If he has access to the tool, so does Putin.
Mike Johnson has done the same after he publicly opposed it, too. His excuse was a “meeting” he had that changed his mind and showed him how important it is to “national security”. Meaning the CIA cornered his ass in an office and told him to fall in line or he’s toast. Shows how little control these politicians have, including presidents.
Greenwald has a good video on this.
