Welcome to the Nix-community Lemmy instance!
What is Lemmy?
Lemmy is a link aggregator for the fediverse.
You can think of it as Reddit meets Matrix/Mastodon/Email. Lemmy allows different sites to host independent communities which also which also seamlessly connect to each other.
What are the rules?
- No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia. Code of Conduct.
- Be respectful, especially when disagreeing. Everyone should feel welcome here.
- No porn.
- No Ads / Spamming.
Cool. How can I register?
For now https://lemmy.nix-community.org is not allowing registrations meaning you will have to register on another homeserver to interact with it. A list of public instances can be found at https://join-lemmy.org/instances.
This may change in the future as both the software and our adoption of it matures.
How can I create new communities?
Some Lemmy instances allow users to create their own communities, we do not. This is mostly because we don’t want a bunch of empty communities making it harder to find the ones in use. To suggest new communities get in touch with us on the Nix-community matrix chat.
How can I contribute?
To contribute financially see the Nix-community OpenCollective page. If you want to suggest new communities, report issues or to suggest changes get in touch with us on the Nix-community matrix chat.
To contribute configuration changes to the instance do so in the infrastructure repository.
For other matters see the Nix-community contact page.
