It’s too bad most lab coats are at least 50% polyester. They are definitely still tie-dyeable at even just 35% cotton but it’ll come out pastel.
Uh, so in my lab the have to be 100 percent cotton. Because of flammability.

i love making garments meant to be worn during potentially flammable activities out of materials that are basically just solid fuel, very cool
I tried it and the lab coat is slightly colored now, but the tie-dye pattern didn’t really show up.
