TW: Another rant. Pasensya na sumusulpot sa social media e, lmao.
Dami na naman pakialamero at matapobre about glutathione and using its alleged illegality para mang-shame ng mga tao.
First of all, the treatment isn’t illegal. What’s illegal is injectable glutathione, mostly because it’s performed by unlicensed clinics. DOH is fine with glutathione procedures as long as it’s done by an accredited facility. But of course, they’re going to do their due diligence and outright oppose its skin whitening use.
Walang pera karamihan para sa fucking St. Lukes BGC or to bribe those in NKTI to have it done (since you need to have a good reason for it beyond skin whitening), so they go to haoshao clinics instead. They figured sa dinami dami ng mga naga-avail ng procedure, there’s only 1 or 2 known casualties in the last decade. It’s a risk akin to liposuction and other cosmetic procedures.
Bakit gumagamit si Mariel nung IV if they’re rich? I have no idea. Vit C daw (which goes in hand with the procedure), idk and don’t care. What she and every single wannabe Ivana Alawi/Yassi Benitez do with their skin is none of my business. If madisgrasya sila because of it, then that’s on them. Pera nila yun, buhay nila yan.
Society glorified yung Westernized look e, and we’re all guilty of it. It started from our forefathers and it continues with the newer gens with k-pop kung san nauso mga bleached hair at yung mapuputi na makikinis.
