Reminder that at least one of the weather balloons they shot down belonged to a ham radio club. One of my buddies is a hammy and the second he saw the balloon story he goes “that looks like a balloon ham radio clubs will send up. My club bought one years ago. They are like $500 to set up and launch.” lol. He called it day one.

China May Be Spying On You Through Your Coffee Maker

IDK, maybe the possibility of surveillance by anyone could’ve been avoided by not putting a general-purpose, wifi-enabled computer in everything?

People are trying to say that garlic from China is so white because they use bleach on it so therefore you shouldn’t eat Chinese garlic or you’ll get sick. Guess which garlic I always get at the market! They also say that peeled garlic from China is unsanitary because the people who do the peeling do so with their mouths rather than using, oh I don’t know, machines? The only evidence of this I’ve seen is a blurry video of like, two women, sitting in a room supposedly peeling garlic with their mouths. The West is not okay…

What I find most telling is not the fact that these stories get circulated, but the fact that people in the west swallow them uncritically. It really says a lot about western society where they want to see everyone else as dirty savages. You can put out any absurdity about Russia, China, DPRK, or Cuba and westerners will eagerly lap it up because it fits with their racist biases.

The secondhand embarrassment I get when these type of videos pop up on my TikTok is immeasurable. It’s rare, but they do slip through the cracks. Sometimes when I see people lapping up these obvious lies I just want to tell them to get a grip and stand up, think for once in your life! That squishy thing in your head? USE IT! I have to hold myself back every time family is around or I’ll risk prematurely disowning myself lol

The Pax Americana always say that the Scary Reds are so hard working and innovative that the invisible hand hire the Scary Reds to occupy key positions of American society to manage the lazy Capitalists. Things that may seem normal obviously could be very dangerous if the Red Scare made them, and the Capitalists need to use the Bretton Woods institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) as the de facto global government to provide handicap against the Red Scare in the free market competition. That is why Venezuela could manage a highly competitive free market economy under Socialist president Nicolas Maduro where even the undereducated elderly people with no source of fund could start a successful enterprise in the series of ‘hyper’ recessions since the 2008 global recession despite the Liberal redefinition of Socialism from government by the working class to command economy.

If people are really scared just don’t connect things to the internet that don’t require an internet connection.

What I’ve always found hilarious is how people who hate China, and will never set a foot there, are more scared of China spying on them then their own government that actually has agency over them.
