I always believed that there were none, but on a rewatch of QI, I learned there are actually two:

  • Hurple / hirple: To limp (verb) or a limping gait (noun)
  • Curple: A strap under the girth of a horse’s saddle to stop the saddle from kicking forward.

If you’re interested in words, Something Rhymes with Purple is a podcast with Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth.

Whenever Gyles is on Qi, about half the episode is him going off on an anecdote.

    Edit: Fixed spelling

Whenever Giles is on Qi, about half the episode is him going off on an anecdote.

I think it’s Brandreth? Not gonna lie, those are some of the best ones. You never know if what he’s saying is 100% true because he was there or 100% out of his ass. Either way, you leave entertained.

I will go back and rewatch his episodes just to hear the fun Grandpa stories!

(Also, fixed the spelling, I got that all kindsa wrong)
