Getting wrapped in a blanket, sitting in front of the PC with a bowl of Nachos with Cheese and playing Factorio while watching or listening to true crime videos/podcasts.

I’ve never had one, but I’ve been considering getting a sports massage. Do you have a specific type of massage that you like? What do you look for in a masseur/clinic?

You’ll have to try different things to find what you like! I get a lot of deep tissue and therapeutic work done.
I also am a massage therapist, so I’d be happy to answer any questions!

Thanks, I will look those up!

Hmm, I guess my main question is what I should know before booking a massage and what red flags to look out for? I also recall reading somewhere that you have to get massages regularly to get the full benefit of them, like weekly/monthly, is that true?

I’m not a fan of a place that will book you same day. Also avoid sketchy looking places, if you’re looking for a reputable massage, not sex work. Also red flags are someone who doesn’t listen to your concerns, someone who promises they can fix everything, and (for me) a generic place where they won’t tailor things to your needs. As far as benefits go, there can be a benefit from going a single time! Depends what you’re looking for. If you have ongoing issues that’s your like to work on, regular massage is great!
Finding the right massage therapist is like finding the right therapist (if you haven’t done that either, there’s a bit of a feeling things out process to find someone you really connect with and can do some good work with).

I went through a chocolate period and that was fun. At this point, uh, buying liquor. Not even the expensive stuff now though.

Recommend me recipes? My problem is that I enjoy the baking more than the eating though haha

I highly recommend basically anything from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I’ve never had one of her recipes fail, and they’ve always come out absolutely delicious to the delight of my family and friends. I also like her site because she actually covers a lot of details about what’s important to pay attention to in each recipe, which substitutions work & which don’t, qualitative as well as quantitative criteria for each step, and both metric and US customary units for ingredients.

Recent award-winners include her Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, Seriously Fudgy Brownies, Maple Pecan Tassies, Gingerbread Cookies, Very Peanut Butter Cookies, and multiple cheesecakes based on her classic recipe.

I also recently made Claire Saffitz’s chocolate layer cake that was featured in NYT Cooking.

Make something nice for dinner, open a nice bottle of wine, leave the dishes until the morning, have a wank, and watch a favourite film on TV.

Often it’s on technical subjects, but not always. Most recently I read an academic paper on a new method for accelerating the execution engines of dynamic programming languages. The new copy-and-patch technique allows such an engine to generate more optimal code very quickly and without manual programming of machine specific hand tuning that is often not economically viable.

Speaking more recently, I enjoyed reading a paper and this article about the paper. “What Is It Like to Be a Bat?” concerning the mind-body problem.

I enjoy that “learned something new” feeling.
