Sure, just like the “leakers” guessed it would come out last year, and the year before that, and the year before that… don’t worry, just keep moving that goalpost, you’ll get it right one day.
Yeah, this time the “leaks” are “different”, just like they were “different” last time, and the time before that, and the time before that, and…
I can’t say I’m surprised, based on the rumors we’ve been seeing so far, but it is disappointing
Lame if true. The switch is painfully underpowered at this point.
It was painfully underpowered when it launched. The SoC in it was already 2 years old, the Switch is basically a mid-range smartphone from 2015 that launched in 2017.
Wasn’t the SOCs in Xbox and PlayStation also old on launch.
It takes a fuckton of time to make hardware like that.
Depends, the faves that are made purely for it in mind are great in my opinion. Animal Crossing, mario odyssey and wonder and the like. All look great and run great.
I agree, but they will undoubtedly be able to do more with more capable hardware. I was also disappointed by the switch’s relative lack of gimmicks beyond its hybrid nature. I miss streetpass, Miiverse, etc. I hope they can get back to some of that on the next gen hardware.
I’m kinda glad it’s devoid of gimmicks. A lot of them felt like it was just Nintendo was putting them in there for the sake of having gimmicks.
I do really miss dual screen gaming though. The assymetrical stuff that the wii u did was A tier and its not been replicated anywhere without the need of a second independent device. Also Mass Effect 3 on the wii u was the best version because of the gamepad. It was great not only having a map at all times but also being able to issue commands without having to go into that wheel menu that slowed the game down.
I also agree. I hope the really blow itnout of the water with both power and bringing back some of that ol’ nintendo charm. Switch feels very lonely with how clinical it is.
Oh man this just isn’t for me, I hate how gimmicky everything Nintendo touches is.
Weren’t there some troubles with Zelda? I think BOTW? The hardware wasn’t capable enough and it got all choppy in some parts of the world.
Yeah it got pretty bad. Don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing that totk and botw runs as well as it does, but I consider it a tragedy that neither game is allowed to run at it’s full potential.
Run it on PC and it can run at 60fps. You don’t even need a super computer.
Look yes and that’s how I played my last botw run, but we’re in the age of 4k60fps on every other console, devs having to hold back their vision because they have to develop for a 2015 smartphone in a fancy box is just a bit silly.
I’ve got a bridge to sell you - if you think the Switch 2 isn’t going to be criminally underpowered.
Really hope the next 3D Mario is a launch title, very much looking forward to what comes after Odyssey. Bowsers Fury was good, but didn’t have the replayability of the other 3D titles
I’m really disappointed with Wonder too, it just wasn’t all that fun or challenging. Probably least favourite mainline 2D. They need to be making these more frequently and there’s no need to reinvent the wheel.
I agree, and rarely see this opinion voiced. So much love for such a subpar game.
The multiplayer especially was one of the worst experiences I’ve seen from Nintendo in a while.
