heippa !
(Well, I had initially created a post similar to this one on the wrong community, using the Finnish-language side for a post in English. I’m sorry! Anyways-)
First of all, thanks to whoever reviewed my application for the approval -
I’m happy to be here- in this instance & on this network 🛜 I’ll seek to contribute & proliferate good vibes, actively participating but keeping it simple 🌻 Both here and on other instances.
Secondly, I wanted to learn something Finland-related for this post when I first logged-in. I searched for ‘hidden gems’ to visit, first on the Pin boards site 📍 and then on a general web search. I’d like to share two things I learnt from that quick search:
- The composer Jean Sibelius was born in Aulanko, Hämeenlinna How many of these places have u visited?
- The Finnish language has plenty of ways to say hi and one particular greeting (Terve!) for crossing paths with another on a forest promenade, according to this article 👋🌲 Can anyone kindly tell me the norms for when to use which of the synonymous ways to say hi?
Cheers !! 🩵
