Depends on what you mean by accessible anywhere. Like on your device? Syncthing could work as well. To share content through an URL? There are many alternatives, a lot of them smaller and lighter weight than Nextcloud.
I used to use Nextcloud, but it was too heavyweight for me and the ARM compatibiloty for me was pretty bad.
Eventually I just set up Syncthing on my NAS, set it up on my devices to sync necessary directories, and set up a separate cronjob to create backups from the NAS. Super simple, and fits my needs better.
Sorry to hear that. I have very good experiences hosting Nextcloud on ARM, both the Pi3 and Pi4. The only problem was the Pi3 was slow when using the WebUI.
