Just a heads up, this post touches on issues of abuse and self harm. They say to tell any good story, you have to start at the beginning. Then skip to the ending. Then tell everything in the middle out of order. I'm pretty sure that's what they say.
Honestly, not sure if I find this wholesome so much as a little sad. But not sad in a tearful way, or in a “aw, poor thing” way. More… The way a rainy day can be sad? Or how nostalgia feels, even though they’re not being nostalgic? It feels very raw, regardless, maybe even a little invasive, like getting a short glimpse into a person’s soul, and a person who has not had an easy life, at that… I’m glad I read it though, so thanks for sharing
Thank you for reading and the feedback. I wanted to strike a hopeful note that was also real. Knowing how much to share is always a balancing act for me, but I tend to err on the side of openness if it was a teaching moment for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it helps!

Ah, I didn’t realize it was your own post. Extra thanks for sharing then. I imagine it could be rather nerve-wracking.
