Guy thinks South China Morning Post is “Communist Party Controlled”… it’s owned by Alibaba Group but anyone who reads that rag can see that they absolutely don’t bother ‘controlling’ it.
SCMP is very liberal and quite pro-Western. It’s not even aligned with the views of the CPC let alone controlled by it. I wouldn’t call it a rag as it does sometimes put out serious and important articles - it’s not CNN or BBC level propaganda trash - but its bias is unmistakeable.
Agreed they do have good articles and decent journalism even if I don’t agree with their politics a lot. Its still far better as a source for news on China than any western media.
