I think that ship might’ve sailed at this point. The west is going into an economic decline, and Africa is developing rapidly. I don’t think there will ever be such a disparity in power between the west and Africa that would allow the west to recolonize going forward.

It can be delayed, and perhaps (depending on circumstance) should be, but IMO the imperialists will not go out without trying to take the world down with them. It’s not in their nature, the nature of their ideologies, institutions, etc.

It’s tenuous, but it’s what’s going to happen and when you consider the circumstances, it’s the only way it can happen. The empire has to eat itself.
