    That thing with the submersible shows we can’t even explore our own ocean without exploding.

    To be fair, it’s much easier to build a capsule that can withstand 1 bar of negative pressure than to build a submarine that can withstand 350 bar of positive pressure.

    Of course, the terrifying part with space flight is that your capsule then has to be strapped to a gigantic tower full of exploding rocket fuel designed to hurl you into space on a very specific trajectory with very small margins of error.
