Poking fun at the controversy of me poking fun at the controversy caused by me.

If I can make someone’s life better with my actions, then I do it. This is for the trolls. Love you <3

Because you want to see it that way?

I’m trying to have a laugh about how my controversy* turned into another controversy*. Already there is an idea of negativity. Im literally laughing in my chair at the absurdity of this whole thing. It’s funny. Can’t you just see the funny?

*some people getting up in arms.

          See the past.

Looks to me like OP came in asking for a type of keyboard that isn’t out there currently and was grating to the responses when different on-the-market solutions were presented, stating that they’re too different from a standard keyboard.

I wasn’t apart of it but I’m not surprised he got downvoted. They went onto an ergo keyboard community and then skoffed at any keyboard that had ergonomic design in mind.

No. Not at all. I asked if a style of split keyboard exists. Some people were being dicks. It’s just a Three Stooges kind of comedy making fun of the absurdity.

I asked for help. Man. People just want to judge sometimes.

You asked for help, than when presented with help got snarky. People got snarky back, now here we are.

The best example to explain it would be like, asking a doctor for help with pain and they tell you stop stabbing yourself with a fork, but you argue that you like stabbing yourself with a fork, why can’t you help me with stabbing myself with a fork?

I asked why? It was working for me. It doesn’t mean I’m “right”.

Just questioning why is not snarky. I wanted to understand the big deal. People made a big deal about that .

Just enjoy the comedy of this absolute mess of junk that happened because of a question to the community :)

Bad habits lead to larger issues over time. You also didn’t just ask why, you argued back with fallacious arguments. I was keeping it simple for brevity.

This was explained multiple times to you, and yet here we still are…

              I read through the thread.

People were being reasonable. At the worst, they were confused by you wanting the mouse between the keyboard sides.

              You were being overreactive.

Thanks! I wasn’t thinking it before, but what if it inspired a new take. That’d be cool :) nice to think positive.

I’m sorry, is this some sort of “terminally online” joke that I’m too active outside to understand?

Kinda. It unfolded over the last two days.

I asked if the keyboard in panel 3 existed. A lot of people were helpful. A few were being rude. I posted the meme without the green/red or editing happy faces back onto the majority of the mob in panel 4.

Some people accused me of calling the whole community assholes, and, despite clarifying I was poking fun at the mean ones, so many persisted to accuse me of horrible offenses.

So I edited it to address that complaint so now it is very clear only a few turned angry…

      Man, it’s just a mess.

I’m just an outsider, never posted in here before, but I saw the old post and thought nothing of it other than “wild idea”. Now I see this community being dragged as unhelpful or mean to newbies when that was NOT at all what I saw in that thread. Sure, a few usual WTF or “you might wanna change your input” responses but that’s just how the Internet responds to unusual things.

Seriously, I had to go back to see if I missed actual meanness but I had to hunt for the thread, now deleted perhaps from embarrassment? Still, overall it looks like great responses until OP starts getting chippy, fighting users and just overall snarky. But hey, it happens.

But now, a full day later, the same OP makes a meme that continues to paint the base in a negative light AND is totally clueless as to why, with multiple disclaimers saying “no, I’m cool, this is fun!”. This is the epitome of JUST STOP. You goofed, you did not read the room correct at all and now it’s time to disappear, not continue to explain yourself as some misunderstood person who means well. Please, for the sake of the Internet, we get it.

Trying to be a part of a community by joking around is not a reddit-exclusive feature ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Man. I’m trying to find peace and it still is a problem.

Hey you started out by suggesting something that at one point would have been pretty helpful for me. Maybe you got a bit riled up by some of the responses. Some people are always going to be mean on the Internet.

The original meme made me laugh, I love the idea that such a new take would rile everyone up (even if it didn’t really). I imagine you suggest some duplicate keys and mothers are covering kid’s ears, old church ladies are fainting, and the young men are wanting to fight. A religious leader gravely denounces the new heresy.

Then the edit to the meme format?! I love it.

That being said, it almost seems like you’re blowing it all out of proportion. Rejection sensitivity is common, and easy to feel with online communities.

You’re welcome to be here, I like your creativity and out of the box thinking. Maybe cool off, have a laugh, and I’m looking forward to seeing what other creative keyboard ideas you come up with.

I post the meme with original format and people get pissed.

I post the meme fixing the part that makes them pissed and they are pissed. *they being the ones that are pissed.

    🤷

Thank you so much to the people who were kind, informative, and helpful. I do not mean to ignore you. You are kind people. You have loose aggressive dogs making for a crappy welcome to your home.

“It’s the internet, duh!” Someone has to start calling that shit out at some point. We can make a nicer world.
