Feels like I’ve been going flat out even after settlement day, so this is the first chance I’ve had the space and energy to have a little celebration.
Couple of dishes from the little Chinese cafe which is a bit of a local institution, the bottle of bubbly the estate agent gave me when we sold the house, and sitting down to finally watch Bridgerton. Ahhh.Jeez. Massive house fire a few doors down in kew.
Thing just collapsed in front of us all…
Everyone safe.
Poor cop telling everyone to stay away. Not an easy task when there are 200 people watching on she gave up.
Jeez that’s what the structure fire warning I saw earlier today was… middle of a hike and got to a rare spot with phone reception and an unexpected ping.
Good night everyone 🐱
goodnight fluffybutt 😘
Guys, I think there’s somethinf wrong with Ozbargain. It’s meamt to help you save money, but instead it’s making me start a whiskey collection?
Has this happened to anyone else?
I’m zonked from the gym. Early dinner, some music making and video games then off to bed.
Up early today. Cleaned house (family effort), mowed the lawn, went to the gym, had GyG for dinner…now chillaxing with beers with my feet up.
Gotta appreciate the little things.
I trimmed my beard, shaved, gave myself a haircut, showered and was seconds away from booking a room up on the border for the night but then all of my motivation just fell away. I might just stay home and save my money, then go for a drive and find some mountains and start a new audiobook tomorrow just for a day out.
I do need to source some lunch though.
I have marketed.
I have procured
- fruit
- veg
- chorizo
- pork chops
- fresh fish
- felafels
- milk
- honey
- coffee
- bread
- soap
And a partridge in a pear tree
I really really love electric blankets. In the top ten of humanity’s greatest inventions for sure.
Fam from Queensland visit on occasion, are in awe of the electric blanket during winter visits
Spicy ramen flavoured Twisties…
- exist
- are pretty spicy
- are pretty gross
I saw them the other day and decided they’d probably suck
I tried them a little while ago and agree with your assessment
Wicked cheddar zig zag twisties for the win.
Oooh gotta try those. Cheese twisties are my downfall figure wise.
Chicken twisties are superior.
Chicken twisties are superior over cheese twisties but wicked cheddar hip and shoulders those out the way to take the win.
Plans for the day abruptly derailed by realisation of failing silicone job at base of shower wall right in the splash zone.
Try getting through marine epoxy grout you fucker
grout attachment on an oscillating tool?
Old stuff was straight silicone, so lots of swearing, picks, blades…but l’epoxie be situated in lovely clean voids and curing merrily away since 8:30 pm.
I can’t speak to epoxy grout, but I’ve been grouting recently and read on /ausreno that it takes a week or so to cure fully.
Yupples.
Was that for me? Generally f yuppies, but I don’t see the grout connection.
that’s an L, not an i. Yup-ples
Still, shower pan under tiles should keep things waterproof unless the membrane has failed?
-
60 year old house, 40 year old bathroom
-
failure was at the transition between wall tiles and pan
😣 😭

Tell it to respect your boundaries. If it doesn’t it’s getting cut out of your life.
Even though I’ve been back in Perth a few years now, Aldi’s snow week here still amuses me:
None of the snow gear moves at all. This stuff would have been gone in the first few hours in Melbourne. I think this is actually the second week, too!
The ski gloves are excellent as bicycling gloves in cold weather - if Perf ever has any.
I saw my local Aldi team having a post-snow-sales celebration bbq out the back of the shop the other day.

Are those art supplies or surgical instruments?

That’s hot 😍

This is the closest I’ve ever been able to get
Had a go at cleaning the kukri last night. Lemon, salt, baking soda, vinegar…
First time it has been used. It’s never been sharpened (by me) and that went through a lemon like it was nothing (sharper than my chef’s knife). @Thornburywitch@aussie.zone was right that edge keeps. Will need a few more passes but something tells me it’s a very old blade and it’ll be difficult to get shiny.
Cleaning it did reveal some detail like how they poured a little bronze or whatever in a few bits which is a nice touch.
I’ve been looking with interest, I just can’t figure out how to use that knife. Next stop, yt for some videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6ZIY2i1t2s
Ooh super interesting vid. Love how it’s shrouded in so much mystery.
500-7000 grit sandpaper then a buffer/polisher and cutting polish could get that to a mirror finish if you were keen.
