      Facebook did sort of address that… With a small paragraph that said something to the effect of “your data will not be used for ads”.

      Of course they won’t. Facebook still has a license to purchase, abuse, and sell your data… They just promise not to do it for the ads that will not be created for you.

        They will collect and use (and not directly sell) to create training sets for neural nets, and then they can sell access to those neural nets for the purposes of ad targeting.

        You’re not a user. You’re just another brick in the wall.
