Would someone please tell me how to install the new Thunderbird version on Manjaro?
Thanks!
I think you can use AUR, but personally I would wait a fortnight for 115 to reach Manjaro repos
–Edit
A suggestion for the future: don’t mention Manjaro in an Arch community lolhey thanks!
Hahaha but ain’t both the same, kinda?
Well, Manjaro is based on Arch but Arch users don’t take kindly to Manjaro users asking for support in communities closely related to Arch.
Anyways this is what you should install: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/thunderbird-biniirc you can run
pamac build thunderbird-bin
. Remember using AUR comes with a few risks: https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Overview- Multiple versions of the same packages.
- Out of date packages.
- Broken or only partially working packages.
- Improperly configured packages which download unnecessary dependencies, or do not download necessary dependencies, or both.
- Malicious packages (although extremely rare).
Thanks for the instructions, mate!
The tar.bz on the official site has a binary to just launch it, so you just need to extract the archive to wherever.
Gotcha, do you know how I could install it like an update to the current installation. I mean using all my settings
