  • Again, she’s got a degree, you likely don’t. I trust her judgment and it hasn’t been wrong in years. Please go bother someone else before I excise you from my internet experience forever.

    You’ve made a thousand posts in a month. I

Bitch I have been posting on the internet since before it had pictures, and if you think a thousand posts in a month is significant, then you don’t want to hear about when I still had a reddit account.

Yes she knows, no she is not concerned and even considers it good therapy for me to practice handling my EDS, which I have to say has been a significant improvement in my quality of life. I mean just look at this post, I BARELY insulted you! 5 years ago that wouldn’t be the case and confronted with your rancid presence I would likely already be banned.

You are concern trolling and on any rational media platform that should be an instaban.

  • our delivery is crass. I

    I don’t care?

You’ve made the conversation worse by adding to i

The opposite in fact, I pointed out the intellectually dishonest tactic of the thought terminating cliche and then made reference to the actual study, which apparently all of you who ‘read the article’ seemed to miss the link to, and are kind of salty that I did not.

    g besides your own opinion

5 decades of experience dealing with average people has proven to me that rarely has my opinion been the less functional one. Yes I am arrogant, and I don’t really care much about the opinions of others because most people never really bother giving any serious thought to anything they repeat or insist and I’m tired of the time and effort I do take to deepen my understanding of these topics is casually dismissed.

Have you ever sat down and thought about how a dollar flows through the economy from printing to disposal? I have and it took hours across several days, and I’m STILL SURE I missed some aspects of counterfeiting and outsider art but I can bet you a box of donuts that almost no one in this thread has even spent more than 120 minutes in their lives considering it unless it is part of their degree or career. Not even hedge fund managers know the whole picture.

Or how about figuring out the square acreage of space farm you would need to feed and oxygenate a single human? Because I have and it’s 17 - 22 acres depending on how many legumes you can stand in your diet for your average human. I don’t even think the Muskrat has broken down the circular crop rotation cycle well enough to keep their soil fertile for 3 harvests and he STILL thinks he’s going to get to Mars in his lifetime.

That’s the other thing that pisses me off, there are a fucktonne of idiots with bad ideas that fail constantly making a hell of a lot more money than the people who predicted those failures and were promptly ignored.

It’s like a Cassandra complex but instead of having meaningful prophecy ignored, it’s a clear eyed vision of our current present reality that gains the most scorn and vitriol. It kind of makes me hate all of humanity until proven otherwise on an individual basis.

  • You can’t help it, hardly anyone including science educators ever really look deep into things.

I will give you this: What the meaning of ‘planet’ has been has changed over time and shrank and grown until in our modern understanding of astronomy it is hard to rectify our image of the solar system. We used to think our local space was empty except for a handful of traveling lights that moved against the relatively still galactic background and we gave spiritual and mythical importance to those lights because we thought such objects uncommon.

But the truth of it is there’s quite a lot of objects that qualify for the original definition of ‘planet’, as in literally every astronomical body out to the heliopause which includes an obscene amount of mass from the Oort cloud. And even I will consider that ridiculous and worthy of revision.

For the longest time it was just the easiest to see objects, then Lowell predicted the existence of Pluto it made the discovery unusual as it wasn’t from direct observation, and personally I think this is the root of astronomers’ reason to exclude it. In their minds there is a primacy assigned to the bodies discovered with the naked eye and primitive telescopes as they represent some symbol of the true nature and majesty of the human effort to understand the heavens, and not because excluding Pluto in any way benefits the classification system.

I get that, but it is not a valid reason to downgrade a disproportionately favorite planet for many people. The added requirement is meaningless as it can very well apply to Earth, downgrading our status as well, but of course everyone just makes a silly face and handwaves despite being reminded twice a year in spectacular fashion that Earth has yet to clear its orbital path.

  • I have tried unsuccessfully to transition to linux as my daily driver more than five times now since the early 00s and every single time I run into a major failure that halts all progress, and then I go back to it a few years later hoping for something different and each time being left for days without being able to get it running. Never had this problem with windows.

And I’m a seasoned senior IT admin that has stood up and maintained dozens of linux servers in my lifetime.

Yet every time I share my terrible experiences with the software AND the community, there’s alway some rancid windowlicker rushing into the comments to tell me “Acktchsually it is commercial software that is wrong”, again reminding me of just how terrible you people are.

And now that I have someone of your ilk here, I’d also like to ask:

#Why the FUCK are you people wasting so many millions of hours of human effort by everyone and their brother making functionally identical distros with vanity tweaks, and getting into doxxing over stupid shit like over which U.I. to package.

Your software is shit, it will never be desktop ready because none of you can focus on the real issues. You can lie to yourself all you want but Windows is simply the superior desktop OS.

Keep in mind, I don’t really like Windows, but I fucking hate linux with a seething vitriol only matched by some racist homophome grandpas seeing their daughter kiss a black woman. And people like you are 30% of the reason.
