  • Some people just enjoy shitting on us. Go back and look at how we were talked about in the media. No one took us seriously, and we barely made a few ppls top 4 predictions, and then we started winning.

    • “They haven’t faced any real competition, just wait”

Once that narrative dried up it was onto

    • “They can’t sustain this”

But we did, and then Jesus got hurt.

    • “They can’t do it without a proper striker”

And we just kept on ticking, winning games and picking up points. Somehow we went from barely being worthy of top 4 to title contenders by mid season and the only team in the league giving City City a proper fight for the title.

Once people got sick of us winning, they started complaining, and out came the fun police.

  • Times article on sin bins

Really want to see this at a professional level. I live in an area where soccer is like 6th or 7th on the popularity charts behind curling and the most common complaint I get from “casual” fans is the diva behaviour, the diving, and the pretending to have lost a limb while barrel rolling across the field.

And I agree with them. It’s a blight on the sport that I wish would disappear, but it won’t unless it disappears from the professional level first.

  • Well I typed out an essay and somehow made it disappear 😭. So here I go again.

Short answer: they can spent another 2b in the same manner they spent the first and they will be exactly where they llare now.

Long answer: Clubs like Barca, Chelsea, PSG, United, have mis spent money in a way, and at a level, that is mind boggling and each has its own mountain to overcome. In Chelsea’s case, they did too much, too fast, and to such a degree that I believe they will be in BIG trouble in 4-5 years of they don’t secure CL every year.

Mark my words, Chelsea is playing with fire and if they don’t turn things around fast, it will get very ugly. Barca is is the same boat IMO, but I figure Barca will have an easier time digging itself out from its own grave.
