“Could”, “May”, “Might”; all fancy words for “Never gonna fucking happen”

We have moved far past the point being to “prevent the threat of a good example”. That might have been the case 25-30 or more years ago, but now the only point is to appease the large number of wealthy ex-Cubans and their descendants. And yes, ex-Cubans, not Cuban Refugees. You don’t get to call yourself a refugee for 50+ years, at a certain point you have to accept that you have abandoned your country and embraced another. There’s nothing wrong with that, but you aren’t a refugee.
It sure is! And if you have great friends, you all can agree that there are much better ways to socialize than standing around in the dark drinking while overly loud music plays!

If the election were between Trump and somehow someone even worse who was calling to nuke the entire area and turn it into glass, then I would absolutely be pushing for Trump. Shockingly, if we are trapped in a horrifying, dystopian version of the trolley problem (which we are), I’m going to make the choice that causes the least damage.
Using another analogy, if you have a badly broken arm, you can either set it and try to keep it immobilized, or you can let it stay how it is and all but guarantee that it gets fucked up even worse as it heals wrong. Voting third party is like saying “I don’t like either of those options since they both involve my broken arm, so I choose to pray to the Moon Goddess”. There is no option that immediately stops your arm from being broken. You can delude yourself and say the Moon Goddess will magically fix it, but in reality, you are choosing the option that does nothing and makes it worse. Choosing to set your broken arm doesn’t make you “pro-broken arm”, it’s just the only practical choice given a terrible situation.
Humpback whales have been seen interfering with killer whales that are attacking seals or dolphins. Maybe they don’t see it as “genocide” as they don’t have a concept of the idea, but there is at least some evidence of another species upset at, and willing to stop, the killing of another. I think by that logic, if they could understand the concept of genocide, they would consider it a bad thing.
The paradox of tolerance shows us that, indeed, there is no contradiction.
If more people acted like Everett True, we’d live in a much nicer world. We’ve given assholes far too much free reign.
It’s like praising all the cabin cars getting repainted with eco-friendly paint while the train has already gone off the cliff and is plunging toward the ground.
My friends, there exists premade maps of labyrinthian proportions that twist and turn, with multiple larger and smaller rooms, shortcuts and hidden passages, and yet still in a format that encourages a natural flow through the area.
It’s called IKEA and you can use their floor layouts to trap your players in an inescapable hell.
I could flip a coin and determine what OS most people are running on their phone with 50% accuracy. Or, in the US, I could just guess iOS and be right 60% of the time.
Careful, you might cut yourself on that edge.
The other, from one of the interviews, the last four years of Democrat led politics has literally been the worst in their lives for both themselves living in america, and for their friends and families who live in the middle east.
Were they not alive from 2001 to 2008?
The only thought I’m connecting with at 5:30 in the fucking morning is “I’m so tired, I want to go back to sleep”.
The alternative is pretty fucking stupid too. Imagine losing access to your freshwater because the river shifted across an imaginary line. At least when the border is the river, you always have access to the river.
I honestly think thats brilliant marketing and actually hammers home the message being told. Modern war and life in the military isn’t like what you normally see in media or what the recruiters will promise you. It’s often a boring, exhausting, lonely, massive waste of fucking time in the most hellish of environments, all punctuated by moments of high stress. Most soldiers don’t see direct action and have practically zero insight into what is going on. Why was that patch of dirt 5 miles away just bombed? Was it us who bombed it? Who fucking knows? Get back to drilling.
If by steal, you mean purchase from me for cheap because I don’t give a shit about it and don’t appreciate its value, only for my great grandson to show up years later and call you a thief, then sure!
I don’t get the racism argument. Claiming there was an ancient civilization existed that taught early civilizations isn’t racist. That an ient race doesn’t exist anymore. The early civilizations they claim to have taught don’t exist anymore. Modern day Egyptians have as much to do with ancient Egyptians as they do with modern Polynesians. At a certain point, we have to recognize that we’re talking about so long ago that race is out of the equation.
Like, don’t get me wrong, his claims aren’t scientific and he definitely seems like someone with a theory in search of facts. But I seriously do not get the racism claim. It doesn’t belittle modern societies because no modern society can really claim ownership of shit that happened over 10,000 years ago. It’s insane to think otherwise.
Oh please. This is reserved for people who have no one to mourn them when they die. There are, unfortunately, a ton of rich, authoritarian, imperialist shit heads who probably miss her.
