A temporary authorization until the end of April next year but why?
Do the US plan on buying fuel from Russia?

So much for pushing Biden left
So basically the same as Biden and Harris. Good thing I never considered voting for him.
A paramilitary force used in the past by the Sudanese government to quell local uprisings is now fighting the government and ethnically cleansing the country.
I have read that they have a gold mine to finance their war crimes, and some regional governments such as UAE are complicit.
“It is deeply concerning that China is trying to make the rich pay their fair share in taxes” – western media, probably
I played the free Astro Bot game bundled with the PS5 and found it to be a quality platformer and a nostalgic trip through Playstation history. I didn’t play the latest release but will eventually.
The history of Western Sahara is more complicated than this article suggests. Until France and Spain divided the Moroccan Sultanate -AKA the Alawi Sultanate- during the scramble for Africa, it was all part of Morocco.
I have no idea how this could be solved, other than uniting the entire of Maghreb. On one hand Morocco has historical claims to the Western Sahara, on the other the monarchy is reactionary and corrupt and the people of Western Sahara have a right to self determination. Though in the grand scheme Sahrawis are not a distinct group of people than their Arab and Amazigh neighbors.
No it isn’t. But enabling a genocide and disregarding international laws, as Biden and Harris are doing, is.
Biden/Harris by enabling the genocide have squandered all the moral high ground the West/US claims to have.
Here’s what the Financial Times wrote a year ago:
“We have definitely lost the battle in the Global South,” said one senior G7 diplomat. “All the work we have done with the Global South [over Ukraine] has been lost . . . Forget about rules, forget about world order. They won’t ever listen to us again.”
“What we said about Ukraine has to apply to Gaza. Otherwise we lose all our credibility,” the senior G7 diplomat added. “The Brazilians, the South Africans, the Indonesians: why should they ever believe what we say about human rights?”
Just four weeks before the Hamas assault on Israel, leaders from the US, EU and western allies attended the G20 summit in New Delhi and asked developing nations to condemn Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian civilians in order to uphold respect for the UN charter and international law. Many of those officials told the Financial Times they have had the same argument read back at them in demands for condemnation of Israel’s retaliatory assault on Gaza, and of its decision to restrict water, electricity and gas supplies there.

I am not voting for genocide either way. If things are as critical as Democrats claim -they are lying- they would have stopped the genocide but they didn’t care enough to stop it.
Well done Mexico
There it is, right on cue.
“Vote for us or we will let the other team kill you”
You do realize that Biden already did order her execution, she just has to go visit her family in Palestine.
For a more concrete example: Justin Amash a former US representative had family members slaughtered by Israel in a church bombing in Gaza and Biden didn’t care. https://www.newsweek.com/former-congressman-family-killed-gaza-church-blast-1836649
“but at what cost”
Hopefully some Arab countries can be on the list soon. Maybe one day a train trip could be possible. Imagine from West Asia to East Asia by high speed rail…
I am sure the pro-genocide pro-Harris voters will have reasonable and respectful things to say about this.
American military and intelligence officials have concluded that the war in Ukraine is no longer a stalemate as Russia makes steady gains, and the sense of pessimism in Kyiv and Washington is deepening.
So what’s next? A Vietnam and Afghanistan style rapid collapse of the US-supported government? Something entirely different?
1975 Fall of Saigon
2021 Fall of Kabul
202X Fall of Kyiv…?
It must be quite the shocking turn of events for those who were convinced Ukraine was going to win.
Missiles and drones are democratizing warfare.
Cowards
“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said
Putting aside that no president should say that about the citizens of their country even if there is some truth to it, I don’t think Harris will lose any votes over this. People made up their mind months ago, I made up mine a year ago. There can’t be people who haven’t made up their mind yet.
Thank you.
The threat of a widespread conflict in the Middle East has shifted attention from Ukraine. Western fatigue with the war in Ukraine is real, “and increasingly so,” the foreign minister of Finland told the Financial Times recently.
I guess we have our answer to who has more patience. Though I expected this. Russia’s political system allows more long term planning and commitments. In liberal democracies policies can change abruptly depending on who wins the election.
A tangential question, AIPAC-aside which is more important to the US: Eastern Europe or West Asia?
To me it seems Ukraine should have been a strategic priority for the US and not Israel, if it weren’t for AIPAC influence, or is controlling the Eastern Mediterranean a priority for the US regardless?
Makes no sense when the US is a net exporter. Then again something similar happened before https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/saudi-arabia-imports-record-russian-fuel-oil-june-trade-grows-2023-07-13/
