Game Pass is cool and all, but the rebrands and weird omissions make it a bit of a shambles.

I still have an Xbox One, but I’ve got a chonky internet connection (at least for my area) and Cloud Gaming is a fantastic bit of kit. I was tempted to buy a cheap one-month Game Pass code and play this Black Ops 6 campaign and another game or two… but this isn’t on the Cloud Gaming service.

It’s shit like this that makes the high seas a far more attractive option. I know not every game is Cloud Gaming enabled, but one would expect that certainly all the Game Pass titles would be included.

Oh well, I just won’t play it I suppose, I’m sure I’ll find something else to do with those five or six hours!

Honestly, I never checked after I stored it.

I bought a second generation of Rift (no idea what model it was, but it was the second retail one, not including the CV1 or whatever dev build it was) - and it was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The moment they forced the use of a Facebook account, it stopped getting used. The visor, controllers, and sensors have been sat in a cupboard for a year or two.

I really should see if it has been jailbroken, or if there’s a way to utilise the Rift features without any Meta bollocks.

That single long-tone before the discharge roughly translates to “Bonsoir, motherfucker”.

I’m pretty sure a more natural translation would throw in a couple of putains but I’m neither qualified enough nor French enough to comment with any authority.

I suppose if the character made you a fortune, might as well lean in to it!

I read The Dilbert Principle last month (only about thirty years behind the curve, I know) and it slates purpose mission vision statements even then.

In retrospect, it looks like Adams’ edgy jokes and views didn’t age well.

All it’s ever used for is the odd Quake 3 game; for people to play Metropolis Street Racer on it when they ask what console it is; and serving as a reminder that I really need to set a week aside for playing Shenmue III.

I find it quite handy - it’s a bit excessive on nearly every post, but it does add context when I don’t recognise the news source, and it’s useful to see whether I really need to do some more digging on the article rather than should look for other views on a story.

It’s frustrating to see a comment or two on a post preview pane you’re interested in though and boom, it’s a bot rather than another user to engage with.

It would work really well as a plug in or tool, giving you inline information in the post itself.

Oh I like a pessimistic view - partly because it makes a discussion spicier, but also because it’s important for a user to understand the power that an instance owner wields!

I’m just trying to figure out what driver establishing the tipping point for breaking or the ban hammer - is there any empirical data to drive these decisions, or is the fediverse user base small enough that you act on “feel” or “professional instinct”?

Managing emerging technologies fascinates me so any input - including the germs you’ve already volunteered - is very much appreciated 👍

That’s a strong viewpoint and I appreciate where you’re coming from, but how many votedicks does it take to derail a post? I appreciate the fediverse is reasonably small in comparison to othe headline social media sites, but does banning one or two bots or people do enough to save posts from getting bombed?

At the risk of sounding like I’m presenting a bad faith argument, why ban them? I don’t like the whole “free market” analogy but surely it’s one of the liberating features of federated servers, being able to to largely express your votes or content as you see fit within the legal framework of the host nation. Wouldn’t the odd one or two mass downvoters/upvoters/theyvoters ultimately be a statistical abberation or is the fediverse still small enough for this sort of shit to carry weight?

I like the idea of getting an adult cat - a bit bigger, a bit wiser, and a bit warmer to the idea of having a bed and a human to call their own.

Man I’d love to be able to do that and give cats a good run-in for their twilight years but I don’t think I could - partly because one of the household is allergic to cats; but mainly I don’t think I could deal with the repeated emotional devastation of having to let them go at a much higher rate than a “normal” pet owner.

Fair play to those that do. Pretty ballsy.

Same as the Unihertz Titan. I ran with that for two years and it was decent, if underpowered.

The dream is all but dead for all fourteen and a half of us QWERTY phone enthusiasts I think. A surprising number went to the Samsung Galaxy Flip models, though having used this for two years or so, I wouldn’t recommend it either.

That’s a shame for the family, especially the wife that may well have seen him dead earlier in the evening but thought it was something normal that he was doing.

That said, it’s remarkable that the only person that got hurt by his ability to control vehicle was himself, looking at the list of blunders he had made with other vehicles.
