The thing that puzzles me is that the Yamaha logo, 3 tuning forks, makes sense for instruments that you tune. But I’ve only seen it on their motorbikes.

I encountered something like this at work. It wasn’t pass related, it was just a means of getting people to make text responses. Ampersands were replaced with some gibberish format, which annoyed everyone.

I got some kind of explanation from our tech people, which I understood to mean that ampersand was used to indicate that what followed was live code. Turning the ampersand into gibberish text was a safety measure to stop mischief.

My understanding is that your GF will be using Apple’s KeyChain, which is pretty good except that it’s hard to look inside and manually edit. It’s not just in Safari.

The upcoming Password app is just a nice user interface to KeyChain. So no change to the functionality as such, but I think it’ll make a big difference to how it’s used.

I’d remove the machine head/tuners on the bad side too. There will probably be a nut on the other side that you can undo and the tuners will just pull through. That will give you more working room and allow you to get the glue along the whole crack.

I’m less sure about this one but you could, very carefully slide something like a knife to open the crack out a little. The is might allow the glue to flow in better. If your glue is runny, it might not make that much of an improvement, so perhaps not worth risking cracking it off completely. (Although the glue will be plenty strong enough, if you take off the broken part it might not be easy to line it back up properly. If it’s still attached, you’ll be right.)

FWIW I once cycled 3 miles home with a new guitar too. It was in a heavy flight case and I thought it would be fine to carry it under one arm and wobble back one handed.

It seems that ChatGPT does sometimes know that what it’s offered is wrong and actually knows a better answer when challenged.

I’ve often asked for code help, which hasn’t worked. Then I’ve gone to other sources and found that ChatGPT has been wrong about something and there’s an alternative way. When this is put back to ChatGPT, it says that I’m correct (x can’t do y) and offers a perfect solution.

So it looks like it does sometimes know what it appears to not know, but inexplicably doesn’t give the correct info immediately.

This app/services is useful for working out parts of songs. You upload an audio file, leave it to process for a minute and you get a dashboard with separate tracks for each instrument. From there you can playback with, say, all instruments’ volume down, except guitar to home in on the solo. It’s much easier to hear what’s going on. This all probably sounds nuts, but here are my oil systems:

I wash out and recycle glass jars, but peanut butter jars are difficult to clean and will end up getting fat into the water system. So I keep the peanut butter jars for oil.

I also keep a bendy, steel decorating pallet in the kitchen for scraping out fat from the grill tray and rack. You’re left with some fat that you can wipe off with kitchen paper, which you can also use to wipe the pallet knife. Then washing up liquid and a splash of boiling water from the kettle.

There can be quite a lot of oil in leftover food, like sauces, too. I use a silicone spatula to scoop it off before washing.
