  • The existence of other candidates is not the same thing as any of them having the slimmest chance in hell of winning, and the way our cursed voting system works, they’re going to end up drawing votes away from the “major” candidate that most closely aligns with them. As a result, the “major” candidate they most oppose has one less vote they need to overcome. That means that until and unless a 3rd party candidate manages to completely overshadow one of the major political parties, which is effectively never going to happen, a 3rd party vote is just one more vote your most opposed candidate doesn’t need to beat.

And no, 3rd parties are not going to overshadow the major parties. It’s just not going to happen. Look at the absolute dogshit circus that is Trump, look at how many lifelong Republicans have vowed to never vote for him, how he’s absolutely obliterated any little shred of legitimacy the GOP had as a governing party. Now recognize that with that utterly weakened, vulnerable position, that best chance ever, no 3rd party has managed to even come close to unseating them as one of the inevitable 2 contenders. If it hasn’t happened now, it won’t happen ever, not with FPTP voting.

So basically their whole thing boils down to “The people who don’t like us are the people we’re trying to stop anyway, and everyone else is just wrong when they don’t like us.” When challenged on things like performance impacts they insist that they can’t provide metrics, because it would be difficult to get permission, and even if they did nobody would believe them anyway. Any time a third party provides those metrics, though, those are lies because those third parties are all pirates. So again, everyone who doesn’t like Denuvo is actually just wrong, at least according to Denuvo.

This effort at defending themselves is just so hilariously bad. Not only did they utterly fail to make themselves look any better in any way, the absolute shallowness of their answers makes them look so much worse.

Fuck Denuvo, absolute bunch of clowns, the lot of them.

  • I’m sure nobody is going to use THIS is bad faith. What could go wrong?

At the same time, these larger temperature swings result in higher wind speeds and potentially greater pollution.

The greater pollution they’re talking about is:

Also, greater pollution is possible due to the higher temperature differential between the ground, rooftop, and sky above that mixes smog, dust, and other pollutants into the air.

Pollution that already exists, just possibly spread around a little more.

I also didn’t see anything about their assumptions about solar panel-less roofs. Going to be pretty big differences if they’re assuming the Un-paneled roofs are all painted white, vs black, for instance.

  • The chief difference between here, and Reddit, is that there is no accumulated tally of votes here. Someone can “karma farm” all they want here, and they will have exactly nothing to show for it. Their account doesn’t have a number going up, there is no final score that marks them out as any kind of special.

Adding any kind of system to denote “consistent positive contribution” as you mentioned, or any kind of actually accumulated score, regardless of rolling delay, would only provide incentive for “karma farming” that does not currently exist.

Your proposed solutions would create the problem you’re trying to solve, a problem which does not currently exist.

  • Musk has definitely thrown away $44+ Billion, regardless of the election outcome. He didn’t buy twitter BECAUSE he wanted to manipulate an election in the future, he bought it because if he didn’t the SEC had him dead to rights on stock manipulation charges. Musk had been openly claiming he was gonna buy twitter at meme-stock prices, driving up the stock price, without disclosing that he already owned a lot of twitter stock. He HAD to act like he meant it. It’s also why he did everything he could to back out of the deal, including making up bullshit about how twitter lied about the state of the platform, he didn’t want to go through with it. But Twitter came correct, proved they had their shit right, and literally forced him to go through with the sale.

  • Excretion does remove thermal energy from the body, but it also removes mass, and as a result your heat to mass ratio doesn’t change in any meaningful way.

“Keeping it in” would technically make your body temperature slower to change (Up or down) because there is slightly more mass to heat or cool. Excreting would technically make your body temperature slightly more susceptible to change, again because there is less mass to heat or cool. But really, those changes are inconsequential.

The actual cooling would occur on intake, not excretion. When you drink cold water, your body heat will dissipate into that water until the temperatures match, resulting in a slight reduction in temperature.

So in summary, excretion itself does nothing to cool you down, even though it’s taking thermal energy away, but the entire cycle of drinking cold water, heating it in the body, and then excreting it would reduce body temperature ever so slightly.

  • They think it’s a hoax meant to funnel money into the pockets of scammers pushing these new green techs. They think it’s just enriching liars who want to vilify things these people loved, all while making things somehow worse. Their vision isn’t of a better future, they see a scammer getting rich while their power goes out every time it’s cloudy outside or the wind stops.
