Seems a shame to fine someone who is handed 10’s of thousands of tax-free dollars a week (guess) such a small amount
I would “pospone” eating that corn
That’s a Blue Dragon (Glaucus atlanticus). They can eat the nematocysts from jellyfish and store them to reuse as their own stinging cells. So…“dangerous,” not really but as painful as they are beautiful…oh yes.
I feel bad for the tarantula
Nice to meet you too ;-)
They’re also frequently named for the animals displaced… like Fox Acres, Hawk Ridge, Deer Field etc etc ad nauseum
From the end user standpoint…my interest in reading about much less signing this petition just plummeted
Upvote for the Nina Simone reference and a great, relevant song then as well as now.
correct. The one I am thinking about but can’t find pre-coffee happened in the past couple of years but I found this one from ~10 years ago (38 Million gallons): https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2014/04/17/304128931/one-mans-pee-pushes-portland-to-flush-38m-gallons-of-water
or the guy that pissed in the holding reservoir in Portland. The utility dumped all (I forget the exact number) 7 million gallons or so but his fine was in the thousands of dollars and not what the retail cost of that amount of water would be.

How did this dude get off so easily in his trial?
Just like Trump did. Duplicitous, shitty republican (state) senators voting for their party and not their constituents
Hey look, he bought David Byrne’s “Stop Making Sense” suit
Corporate and industry Lobbyists
…only by others in their profession.
Was the company that got $500k a licensed, bonded reputable corporation or was it a dude with a dumptruck and access to a shit-ton of sand? Did whoever it was come to the HOA center and give a presentation “Dropping Science” and make a case for whatever plan for the “seawall” they had? If the property owners legally signed off on the plan then they rolled the dice and it came up craps.
I’d settle for some lake beachfront property
At first I read the headline, through dirty glasses, as “Man talking trash to dumpster…” which makes this story a bit less interesting than I was expecting.
