  • I’m in the middle of it right now but I’ve got an old plug in oil heater that I decided to pop open the cover and have a look-see before condemning myself to buying another for probably $100ish.

    I am so far from comfortable working on electronics or woodworking or traditional guy stuff, but this radiator is old in the sense of it’s built like a brick shit house and hooked up to a simple mechanical switch with 3 wires, one of which is the power cord that finally disintegrated from the heat.

    It’s so simply built even I can feel confident swapping out for a new mechanical switch and some new wiring.






  • Won’t anyone think of the entitled racists?! Their voluntarily given testimony was used against them in court and they don’t like that! They don’t think they deserve life in prison! So what if they used racial slurs on social media that doesn’t mean that they deserve to be treated like criminals! Unfairly slapped with federal hate crime charges!

    What is it with troglodytes like these who whine that the justice system is treating them unfair. Somethingsomething I’m a good white person who made a mistake once so I don’t deserve to be thrown in prison. The level of entitlement is appalling



  • Detroit definitely is. Stuff is cheap there and things are turning around, just doesn’t have the momentum or wider recognition of any of this yet.

    There’s a reason why Portland Oregon was so well known for being weird. Parts of the city were dingy for a long time but if you were glass half full about that it meant living there was affordable. All the poor creatives could live in a city open to change, not just the folks with high paying bullshit jobs that normally are the only ones who can afford to live close to work in the city.

    If I had the money to invest in some real estate, I would have bought stuff in the Detroit area since it’s got all the same ingredients to be the next Portland
