I acknowledge that these devices are subsidized by ads. However, roku shows you ads but they are off to the side and don’t impact the experience of using the device.

FireTV devices are so aggressive with their ads and terrible UI that I’m fully off them (I actually still have 1).

Hey Amazon, I was a HUGE advocate for you. I help setup countless older family/friends devices for them. I told them that FireTVs were the devices to have.

I have moved 100% to roku. The reason for this that you’re UI is ads 1st and apps 2nd. If you’re redesigning I beg and plead that you take a good look at what Roku is going right. You could do it better and fully whip them out (I hope not because competition is good).

This really might be the one that gets him. It’s one thing when self driving doesn’t quite work right or when that tunnel project gets abandoned. If they install these things and people get seriously hurt (I know cars can hurt people) it’s going to be a shit storm.

I guess that number makes since to me. Seems like there would be a good bit that have to retire at 52 due to health issues and another bit that works till 74. With average average being 65-67 I would say 61 sound about right.

It being huge is an understatement. They have dorms where people live on-site and it’s they are massive. Multiple soccer complexes and tons of restaurants all on campus.

I visited the BYD factory years ago. I have no idea how big it is compared to others but it absolutely blew my mind. I was up on like 5th floor and when they sounded the lunch bell it looked like ants out the window. I think they said it was about 600k employees in that building.

Also, why does every shark movie have to be HUGE sharks or SMART sharks? How about just of bunch of regular sharks. Sharks are super scary anyway so I don’t think we need MEGA sharks or whatever.

In their current iteration I totally agree. However, long term we could shift away from needing to own a car and it would be an Uber like experience for everything.

If I could have a car waiting for me every morning at 7:30 to take me to work and then hit a button when I’m ready to go home I would consider it. Maybe I’d rent a car if we needed to do a road trip.

You could probably figure out some unique version of the dice rollers or player pickers.

Dice roller just rolls a set (specify number) on a click. I’ve used for board games. You could probably do something similar but different. Like a random color picker, random 1-10 picker, or random name picker (from a user list).

Player pickers work like 5 people put their finger on the phone and will randomly pick one person to be first player. Again, useful for board games. I could see it assigning a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd player. You could even spin it like for a 3v3 basketball game. It will put 6 people in 2 groups or something like that.

At my old company I had a few coworkers in Cyprus and they were some great people. One of my US coworkers ended up moving there. I did a video call with him and saw the view he had and holy shit that was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen.

Wow, I had no idea that Cyprus was in Asia. Totally agree they are culturally European.
