My current boss (who was my previous boss) and I have worked together for 10 yrs ( I’m the npbie in this context) we all were analysts on the service desk for a small company.

This is the second time my current boss is my boss. I think/hope that’s enough backsstory. But should be enough to point out we’re all comfortable enough to call eacother a wanker when appropriate

Anyway old boss promoted me to his old position when he got promoted but also put my current boss in between me and him as both a safety net as this is my 1st ever gaffer role and gave my now boss a promotion being in charge of everything joining my reps and my now boss dept under 1 banner

Anyway. In slk I was with my old boss. And in an after work beer he asked me if I thought I could do my current boss’s job I said yes in a couple yrs. He laughed and said he reckoned 9 months

Last week my current gaffer told me off the record. (Onit awsome no one uses lemmy yet) he’s probably going to be moving jobs to a new stream completely away from my part of the business
