  • Unfortunately, in this economy, young graduate needing one year to find a job isn’t uncommon.

    As usual,

    • how easily can you move, it’s easier as a 20 year old kid than as a middle aged parent with an employed spouse in a niche sector

    • Lookat various temporar/consulting agencies. It pays badly, isn’t a permanent position but any experience is better than no experience

-what about further training? A non professional bachelor, is usually too theoretical for employer, and when they want theoretical profile they are people with master degree

-What about government job, may be not a dream job, but with just a bachelor you’re eligible to middle management position, not fun to manage a team of civil servant in charges of dealing with whatever paperwork, but again, it’s a job.

    • don’t forget to join an union supporting the Universal basic income and affordable housing so you can do something to improve our situation

  • Do you know which kind of facilities you have at the camp place? There is hotel like camping with swimming pool, restaurant and even a night club. It’s just cheaper because you bring a tent.

And then there is roots camping with just a field where you can put your tent and a more or less clean shozer/toilet building. I ever saw place where you add to pay an extra for hot water ( A 5 € per night climber’ s camping)

Bring earplugs so your neighbour snoring won’t prevent you from sleeping and a red light so you don’t wake up everyone when you go peeing in the middle of the night.

And expect the morning to be cold

  • Depends a lot on your personal situation, and jurisdiction.

    • Doing a ceremony when you publicly say you love each other is already a valid reason

    • In some jurisdiction, you’d get a form of tax benefit for being married, it often comes with downside like having welfare benefit based on the couple revenue rather than on individual ones (hence the tax benefit). Talk with an accountant/Tax-lawyer knowing your local laws for details

    • It gives a legal status to your shared asset. Sure you could create a real-estate-investment company to buy your house and many people do that but being married, with a proper prenup give you a lot of agency regarding your shared asset

    • It protects the weaker partner, usually the one scarifying their carrer for the couple if things goes wrong

    • No need for a big ceremony, you can get a notary to prepare the pre-nup contract, and do a ceremony at the townhall with 2 witnesses and done.

  • Smaller communities, feel like the reddit of early 2010’s

No ads, no IA training, no monetization of my user data

    Prefer alternative solution

    Usable mobile app

Reddit (and other prorprietary social media) is (are) great for the ever-lasting feed of new content, but something smaller is great too

  • Reality is that there is a lot of difference between office jobs, mechanical designer, purchaser, corporate laws specialists, and let’s say project managers have very different jobs but still have office jobs.

Hour by hour? Read e-mail, browse lemmy, chat using teams (or slack), run to a meeting, then to another one, meet someone in the corridor and ask them a question about an ongoing project, realize that you need to review a report, open the file and get called, rfget a coffee, run to another meeting, conclude you won’t neither review the report X or nor start the report Y and call it a day.
