  • I used a fake name but what I find insufferable is just that it acts like a person for me. I talk to it like La Forge talking to the Enterprise computer when I’m plotting my tabletop campaigns or writing my session notes. My spelling is really bad so I just dump it on ChatGPT to organize my thoughts. Nicer bullet points and better flow, that kind of stuff.

This fucking thing keeps complimenting my writing and being all familiar with me. I’m like, “You’re a fucking robot. Don’t patronize me! Just print my write-up in a more literate fashion. AND STOP tweaking my plot points!”

  • Sounds like union busting to me. It’s been awhile but from what I remember unions in right to work states have no teeth. His union might not be able to do anything. Unions have been attacked by law pretty hard. Things like, making it optional to pay union dues, illegal to strike, or responsible for lost revenue when striking. To your question

What’s the point? The point is to have an organization that fights for you but you have to be willing to fight for others. Unions are great but we have been entering a period when more old school methods of collective bargaining is needed.

Union members literally risked their lives in the old days. They had shoot outs with Pinkertons and federal troops. Legal protections became the alternative to violence. Union leaders were jailed as communists in the old days.

So, your friend’s union might be weak but in general they’re good.

I think labor only has like a 13-20 percent market share in most places. It only has power when it has numbers.

It’s by design they don’t teach labor history in most places.
