Thus begins the Nicpocalypse, the last stage of inquisitional censorship before botspam ascends into a state of divine memedom. In doing so, Nicole joins the first progenitor of the Dark Meme pantheon in his eternal dance across the interwebs, a handmaiden to his horrid everpresent jiggle…

We’re watching history unfold. I kinda wish we weren’t…

  • Progressive who’s been here for a bit. The fediverse has definitely swung more left-wing recently - when I first started up two years ago there was a fair amount of conservative bs, libertarian tech-bros and russian bots - it was about a 50/50 split depending on what instance you were on.

The bot problem seems to have been largely dealt with now, and conservative voices have been more or less drowned out by the new influx of users fleeing twitter and Reddit crackdowns. Many are agreeing that the current administration is bad for everyone. There are a number of hard auth-left moral purity testers that kind of a pain in the ass that pop up from time to time.

I don’t think that’s the problem. This new 20.25 patch is filled with Russian malware and is failing to integrate with our legacy free market democratic systems. I suggest we roll back to version 20.21 until they manage to provide a functional upgrade.

  • CA sales tax averages 10%. While it’s nowhere on the scale of the tariffs, it could offset the impact significantly if reduced or eliminated for goods coming from specific countries.

Additionally, the government of CA has enormous purchasing power. Directing where that money goes could serve to be a powerful tool in mitigating the trade war.

Plus, one element that most folks don’t think about is the financial weight of the CalPERS retirement fund. This organization controls a huge amount of investment money subject to state regulations as to where its invested. Opening up that revenue stream to select foreign companies could be a mighty tasty carrot.
