I can definitely relate to what you’re describing. There was a time when work felt more self-evident, but today, a lot of work is more abstract and ambiguous, which brings its own kind of exhaustion. For me, procrastination often stems from not being entirely sure what I’m supposed to be doing or what my real target is. It doesn’t help when management just says, “fix the problems,” without providing clear guidance.

One thing that has helped me is acknowledging that this uncertainty and anxiety are part of modern work life, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. The key is to remember that you’re a human being, not a machine. The work you’re doing isn’t necessarily easy, and that’s alright. Instead of rushing or being paralyzed by perfectionism, I try to slow down, break things into smaller tasks, and remind myself to relax. Clarity will often come in the process, not before starting.

Yes. I mostly use it for video though, but since my Video and Music libraries are side by side, I play my music in it too. I’m not really interested in the visualizer stuff so I’m not looking directly at the player, but I think I know what you are going to say, that it’s organization and search capabilities for music has a lot of room for improvement, ha.

Again, I thought this was why they (Israel) has been given the OK to commit genocide. This is what is so confusing to me, because on one hand Israel seems to get to do whatever they want to the Palestinians including decimating their populations, but on the other hand, for what purpose are they committing the genocide if all they wanted was to kill the “terrorist(s)” (which they invented by creating the conditions in the first place! Sorry, point of digression there). The point I suppose I am trying to make is that these seem like two different things. Killing the leadership of the “terrorist” and committing genocide. And now, to make matters worse, I am learning that Israel can’t have the land, so all of this seems like a bunch of BS. (Not what you are saying, what is being done there) This feels like when the Saudis were at least partially responsible for 9/11 and suddenly we were creating false narratives about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction and a means to mess their countries up. Sorry, I’m a bit frustrated by this entire situation that has been playing our for the past few decades and it just feels like we are digging deeper and deeper into hell on earth.

I understand the nostalgia surrounding Winamp—I loved it too. But with old versions still available, maybe it’s time to let it rest and look forward. I do understand this to some degree, and unfortunately, only through the lens of privilege, I’m sure. Honestly, as an American, I’ve avoided diving into Marxist ideas because they tend to carry a lot of ‘baggage’ here and are seen as a touchy subject by many. That said, the more I learn, the more I realize that I probably align with some aspects of Marxist theory, having arrived at similar basic concepts on my own, though I’ve always been puzzled why we don’t embrace these ideas. I haven’t really read any Marxist theory directly, mostly because of the negative bias around it, but I’d love to start somewhere. Absolutely, it’s unfortunately a law of the status quo. My biggest concern is that once force is used to take the reins, you’re stuck defending them, which just brings us back to the same place. I’ll admit, I’m likely ignorant of many Marxist ideas. Maybe they have a solution for that, but knowing how humans tend to operate, things often fall short of ideals. Are there any proposals in Marxist thought that address how to avoid falling into the trap of constantly defending the new status quo? I’d love to understand more about that, because honestly, I don’t know what the solution would be. That’s way above my pay grade!

Nah, hard pass.’ So I end up with this funny little cognitive dissonance. I’m all, ‘Yeah, REVOLUTION!’ and at the same time, ‘But let’s make sure no one gets hurt, okay?’ It’s like being stuck between a revolution and a group hug, if that even makes sense!

Exactly. Just one minor nuance, Much of these weapons were developed and stockpiled years ago, sometimes a decade or more before any current conflict. The twisted logic becomes: since the weapons are already made, they must be used to justify the expense, or it’s seen as waste. What’s even messier is the possibility that these crises and wars are sometimes invented or escalated just to ‘spend’ the stockpile. It’s really disturbing to me, lol.
