  • I’m not a DRG superfan and didn’t expect to enjoy this, but the progression feels very solid and it’s a lot of fun. Surprisingly addictive.

While it’s not DRG, it feels extremely faithful to the original game and doesn’t have that “too-vampire-survivorsish” feel that some of these games suffer from.

I can’t really pin down what makes it so playable - my best guess is the pacing of the upgrades and the mix of the 4 classes feels like it’s just right. Tunnelling through walls (and the mining speed upgrades) is also a particularly interesting mechanic.

  • Good sound alerts - even less than 10 of them - are an excellent subscriber incentive, better than a point redemption. People who sub tend to be less prone to immaturity, but yes, they need cooldowns regardless unless you’re just getting extremely lucky.

I think giving out VIPs to regulars is a mistake. Regulars can naturally earn it through a point redemption, and most services include “Regular” as a separate role, so you can have separate incentives for Regulars you like and VIPs who earn and pay points for something extra. Personally I consider VIP as a better role than moderator if the incentives are right. Moderators are subject to the whims of the streamer, whereas VIPs can have locked-in rewards that the streamer has pre-determined that they can have, or extra weighting to decisions on-the-go.

Coming up with ideas on the wheel spin is not easy for anyone, and harder for variety streamers. It’s easier if you have a separate wheel per game.

The camera flip called “Australian Stream” is potentially alienating Australian viewers, even if they seem to not be offended by it - would recommend renaming that.

  • I feel like a lot of streamers have a lot of crappy rewards honestly. Sound effects can annoy viewers throughout your whole channel as much as entertain others so you’re always risking a lost viewer every time someone plays something.

VIP is an obvious one. If you have a discord, assign a role for VIP and connect it to twitch. They don’t need extra benefits apart from a different nickname colour, but benefits rarely hurt here either.

Spin the wheel is a good one. You can use several wheels, a higher priced one should have things on it that you rarely want to do. You can use https://wheelofnames.com/

Bingo cards can be good (but also clumsy and session-changing, good for higher priced redemptions). https://bingobaker.com/

That aside, any point redemptions should be based on what you stream, which you didn’t say in your post.

“Meme” rewards like end the stream are ridiculous. Use something fun instead that the whole channel will actually want.
