I was later reprimanded for saying I wouldn’t help people.
I’ve heard that before. “No. I won’t close the circuit breaker while you’re holding the wires.” “Boss!..”

Holy smokes. That must have been before 1989 (that’s when RFC1094 was released, explicitely prohibiting to map the root user to UID 0). I thought, I was old…
…sure. 'cos I don’t know a digital pitch shifter when I hear and see one. Dream on, be a rebel buy more crap from major labels and don’t forget: Every word the music industry tells you is the truth.
RATM are the biggest fraud ever. Paid by SONY they have been commercializing “revolution” in the most disgusting, primitive and obvious ways. I remember the “made without computers, samplers[…]” note on their first record. Using technophobia and reactionary lies (the record was actually produce with excessive use of digital effects, the artwork mostly plagiarized and digitally layouted etc) to simulate rebellion and under contract by SONY from the first day on, I found them instantly repelling while everone else was euphoric about these wankers. Saw them playing live many years ago with Living Colour, Claws Boys Claws, Lenny Kravitz and many others. They weren’t doing too well in direct comparison with a couple of authentic bands. It felt like if someone had switched from a serious concert to the “Muppet Show”:
This one massively collided with the average social media victim’s absurdity filter, it seems. On reddit it most likely would have got you banned. People tend to destroy, hate or ban what they don’t understand…
The whole vanity publishing industry works like that. Yes, there is such an industry. There’s a highly accurate, slightly satiric and utterly confusing book about it, named “Il pendolo de Foucault” by Umberto Eco. (Probably something like “Foucault’s Pendulum” in English). If it weren’t that excessively long and the plot less complex I’d highly recommend it.
AFAIK other language Wikipedias already are incorporated “elsewhere” (the world¹).
¹ there actually is one outside the US
Back in the olden days we used to nfs mount every other machines file system on every machine. I was root and ran “rm -rf /” instead of “./”.
I still do. With NFS4 even more than ever. Won’t let it go unless for a SAN.
Now for the fun part. In those days nfs passed root privileges to the remote file system.
no_root_squash
much?
It’s safe because it’s sudo! Like sudo rm -rf /*
Actually, they never stopped manufacturing for the German army. Except for a couple of years after WWII.
Because it has to be recompiled for every update.
You think means you’re assuming and relying on assumptions for critical options is deadly: Unless you’re adding the “noerror” option to the referring line in /etc/fstab the machine will fail to boot.
And right so! Indecence is the root of all evil. The world wouldn’t be the rot it is if only people were wearing decent bathing suits. Not even parliamentarians, judges, priest, military and police are wearing decent bathing suits. Look at the outrageous rags they actually are wearing. Have you ever seen cops in bathing suits beat up innocents? Military in decent beachwear commit atrocities? Judges in half-legged nylon sentencing people to death? No, no and no! I demand decent bathings suits for everyone!
If it will be successful (i.e. enough countries over the threshold of subscribers) it will get into the EUs hands.
A european initiative is not the same as a decision made by EU council or parliament. It’s an EU wide civil initiative.
Yes. Deleting partitions without editing /etc/fstab is a nice way to render your system unbootable.
Did you delete it or comment it out in /etc/fstab? Adding
noresume
to your boot arguments should also help. You can try that out in “extended options” during boot and add it to /boot/grub/grub.cfg later. Don’t forget to run
update-grub
after editing.
Temperature is just as tricky. Let the pasta and the rest of the water cool down about a minute. Some obviously bored physicists have experimentally found the “perfect” way (egg not denaturalizing, sauce homogenous) a couple of months ago and published a paper about it. The search engine of your choice might find it.
I don’t see how this contradicts my statement. You can’t make a general comparison between specimina of anything if one of your samples is broken.
