See part of why I have so much of a gripe with liberals is this sort of mentality here. California is one of the most solidly blue states in the country. Since you didn’t defend it on the merits, it seems you agree the choice I described in my post was not great, correct? But instead of realizing that it may be possible that rich politicians from your team are not actually on your side, you just defer to nebulous ‘ancient laws’ that apparently make it impossible for helpful choices in, and lets be clear here, a city deciding it’s own budget. Care to point to the federal and/or state laws that just hamstring the benevolent liberals of LA and force them to increase the police budget by 160 million dollars? Laws that apparently can’t be challenged, or circumvented by the liberals in those positions, since they would certainly do so if they could, right??

Lots, but currently pretty fucking infuriating to see cops get an increase of 160 million, while the fire department gets ~17 million cut. But I guess it balances out if they use those police to build an indentured class that they can pay next to nothing to fight the fires instead!

Did you see how much they had to increase the police budget? Sadly there simply is no way we can afford to pay firefighters.

I’ve liked helix a bit more. It takes less initial set up, and generally has the mentality of showing what you’re about to change before inputting a change command.

This is so weirdly adversarial. It can be true that the people that express their desire for original movies online do in fact go and see them in theaters, but that number is simply dwarfed by the number of people that only see movies with massive marketing budgets that only exist for established franchises.

No one said they did, and if you want to get into the weeds of this, folks that are also subjugated under patriarchy share a kinship and an understanding of the contexts and ways ‘catty’ comments should be made. Maybe going to a couple drag shows doesn’t give you the proper context to understand what justifies a ‘catty’ comment. Maybe a random internet commenter saying they “still would” doesn’t come off as a clever fun sassy razzing all the drag queens do. Maybe instead it sounds like basement dweller saying “she’s not hot like the chicks I jerk off to, but I guess I would still fuck her”.

I did make a deleted comment referring to her Botox or plastic surgery and that I considered it a red flag. I find uncanny valley plastic surgery profoundly unattractive. I don’t remember exactly what I said. It was flippant and arguably objectification.
