The way these people pump out, and then shut down, completely unremarkable generic titles, is a skill in itself.
If they weren’t trying to go for easy money, and committed the effort towards a solid project, they would have been much more well off
I use Bibata however I don’t really have a strong preference for any specific one.
Going to return to this thread a bit later, just to see if other people link something interesting
My mom got my XPS9350 i used to bring to uni, and at the moment, it has Fedora in it.
She repeatedly claimed it was a lot more straightforward for her to understand, compared to the endless inconsistencies and issues on Windows. All things considered, she is fairly tech illiterate too.
Plus it’s easy for me to remote into, in case something breaks
The original announcement isn’t even very long. Could you not have read it before leaving this comment?
It’s absolutely mental that a reverse-engineered hardware stack, with a bespoke gpu driver in Rust, achieved this kind of performance, in this amount of time. God tier skills, between all the engineers involved in the project

No wonder consoles are just not as appealing anymore.
We used to get systems, that were purposefully designed to only play games, but do it phenomenally well. That shit absolutely defined an entire generation of gaming.
Now we get a crippled PC, with dorito ads on the dashboard
I’d love to hear whose fucking fault it was then. Someone’s gotta go out of a 8th floor window next week
Would love to hear about how this could have been prevented, by having more guns, and less guns restrictions
Power corrupts people. On top of that, the capitalist machine isn’t satisfied with “just okay” performance. It’s infinite growth, or nothing. Once you hit the upper limit of what you can deliver, you start delivering the same, but with a lot of cut corners
I would not, in good conscience, ever recommend a Dell machine to anyone anymore. Not only the design and build quality have gone down catastrophically, but Dell would take literally every opportunity they have to fuck you over.
XPS machines in particular have a solid history of being good on paper, but a nightmare, once you ever need to contact them about issues
Ironically, in reality it’s the exact opposite. The home version is pumped to the brim with this dogshit, while the Enterprise version is stripped to the bare necessities. They likely know that other corporations have the balls to sue them for all kinds of reasons
Yet another reminder that alternatives, where your privacy is not for sale, and your hardware belongs to you, actually exist in 2024
Your first mistake was assuming that bigot with shoe inserts will do something logical
Really excited they finally fixed the issue with plasmoids making the shell freeze. I’ve had an email exchange about it with them for a bit
Only relevant if you have a 2000-series card or newer. Pascal and older cannot use it

I was toying around with the idea of doing my classes and early dev work on linux, hearing it’s got a lot less roadblocks and annoyances, and that checked out.
I’ve been running it on all of my systems as main OS since not too long after that, and don’t intend to go back
The headline felt a little weird, but turns out this wasn’t written by Eelco. I thought how can they have found nix in 2016 if they’ve created it to begin with lol
Either way, I’ve switched all by one of my machines to Nix now, including my Darwin laptop, and it’s honestly been pretty damn good.
Aside from the huge learning curve, and a pretty depressing turnover rate for an occasional package update request, especially when it comes to home-manager.
The ability to have a flake structure, that you can push to git, and then re-use on all of your systems, is huge.
