  • First of all, I love it and I’m in (of course).

Now the big caveat: the winner will be the participant with the deepest den. Good? Bad? IDK.

    Now the minor caveat:

    LatherBot shenanigans:

    1. How about taking the last soap before the deadline instead of the first after? That solves the “Latherbot dead for a few hours” problem.
    2. Let’s add “not on the dnb list” as qualifier: The last soap from a soaper not on the dnb list chosen by LatherBot. It doesn’t make sense IMO, (and also doesnt add fun, which should be the main objective) to have everyone burn their Mulligan on PAA

  • DE for Twosdays 05 Nov 2024

    • Brush: Zenith - 506 N XS (extra soft horse)
    • Razor: Wolfman WR2 (1.55 mm SB / 1.25 mm OC)
    • Blade: Polsilver
    • Lather: Noble Otter – 茉莉綠茶
    • Post Shave: Gentleman’s Nod – Musahi
    • Fragrance: Giorgio Armani – Thé Yulong

Delicious tea accords for this very early morning shave. Noble Otter’s tea scents really resonate with me, and 茉莉綠茶 filled a hole I didn’t know my den had. The base isn’t the most forgiving to lather well, but the extra soft Zenith horse is perfect for these situations. The fat horse hair bristles a really slow latherers, never froth, and feel nice.

The gentle Wolfie with the big gap was a joy to use as always, but now it’s time to take the early train for a meeting with customers who live in very inconvenient time zones. Such is life.

    • Brush: Chisel and Hound – Ambrosia Maple with 26 mm synthetic Maggard knot
    • Razor: GEM Micromatic Flying Wing (NOS, chrome plated)
    • Blade: Personna GEM PTFE
    • Lather: House of Mammoth – Almond Leather
    • Post Shave: Declaration Grooming – Fake Yellow Light

These two scents work so well together, perfect for a second luxury MicroMatic Mammoth Monday shave. For a morning shave, I’d have added Gratiot League Square frag, but that would be a bit much right now. It’s a pity that Almond Leather was discontinued, but seeing how Ben really excels at creating new fragrances, this is easy to get over.

I’m really enjoying the return to GEM razors these days. Maybe I will do a complete GEM tour from 1912 to Contour II this month. Although that’s always a bit unsatisfying because it starts with a crescendo and ends with a whimper.

I also haven used this fluted C&H brush in a while. I’m considering pulling the knot and replacing it with a v25 Fanchurian. I just don’t enjoy this synth knot so much anymore, but I love this handle.
