Of course. Your idea is THE idea. You CANNOT get mass adoption without a minimal amount of hops. You won’t get the hordes of pirates running around reading wikis on how to configure their router for piracy and how to get an i2p provider and how to get an index etc.
Torrenting right now is so broadly adopted because you just download a Torrenting client, click the magnet, click OK and you’re good to go.
If you HAD to set up port forwarding, some magnet handling register in windows preferences, just those two would stop the bulk majority of pirates. And that’s not even 1/4 of what you have to do to use i2p correctly.
It’s not even prosecuted where I live. So I couldn’t care less if it’s clearnet or whether my IP address is public.

There is a common misunderstanding. First of all, this is a Canadian instance. There is no American constitution ruling over it. Second, free speech is not limited to the American constitution, or to governments. It is a concept that is related to people’s ability to express themselves, not necessarily in relation to a governmental power.
Lemm.ee is only banning instances that have abnormal growth (i.e. They didn’t enable captcha, have maybe 7 active users, and suddenly go from 30 total registrations to 52000 in a couple of days). Other than that there is nothing banned for ideological reasons unlike sh.itjust.works and other instances.
What is demonstrably true should be demonstrated to demonstrate its demonstrability.

I am actually a professional web developer. But that doesn’t mean I’m amazing at it, though I do know a few… practices, not sure if I should call them “best practices” or even “good design” hahahah, I just do what it takes.
I switched the whole thing to typescript though which tends to produce better results for complex things. Typechecking at compile time saves a shitton of debugging time. For the rest of things like the addon folder structure, dependencies and anything else, I just ask ChatGPT. It is now my universal encyclopedia! 🥸 (encyclopedia, assistant, codemonkey, proofreader, second brain for when mine turns off and also my new source of type errors cuz its common sense is sometimes nonexistent)

Strange times we live in. My instance (pawb.social) has defederated from sh.itjust.works due to their open signup/spambot/trolling problem. This means I can’t actually manage the OP post about this userscript I made, and the link to this page is still alive and prominent for SJW users. It’s unfortunate, but I understand the rationale. I think it will just be temporary until SJW moderates their instance better. This userscript has actually been replaced by a userstyle version, which does the same thing in a cleaner way.
