That chess game even predates OS X, it was a tech demo that came with the NextStep OS and has barely changed since the mid nineties. At this point it would be said to see it go.

Reading books. There are some great books on programming out there. I would strongly recommend a A Players Guide to C#. It’s structure, practice problems, and explainations of the basics were far better than any free guide to programming that I’ve seen online. There are a lot of other great books out there too.
It also doesn’t matter too much about a book being outdated when you are only studying the fundamentals.
A lot of the stuff you read online has never been fact checked or edited for clarity. Some of it is great, but most of it is not.
I think it was only free for a limited time when you buy the car, they might have changed it since then though.
Even Toyota is doing this now. They locked features like the digital tire pressure gauge behind a paywall on their app.
I hope they can get the base relocated and that heavy rail project built. Once the main trunk line is done, the transport issues should start to be relieved quickly. When I visited Okinawa I was struck by how American it felt. I think it’s a good experience to visit, it reveals how much of what we consider “Americaness” is derived from car centric infrastructure. At least Japan doesn’t have batshit zoning laws like America, so it should be easier to fix.
What a dumb article. Britain was broke in the 80s and needed the money and pressed the issue. China was weak at the time and wanted Hong Kong back peacefully. Under those circumstances it made since to pay the debt. Today China has the second largest economy in the world and zero incentive to pay back America, and no one expects them too.
There is no such magic thing as calling in a debt. If China is in default and no one cares, the debt practically does not exist. Americans complaining about it won’t affect China’s interest rates or anything else.
XKCD is basically all math jokes.
