I feel that /r/programming lost a lot of volume and intensity following the API protest drama. This community seemed like a beneficiary. Even anecdotally though, I sit in a couple of language discord servers and engagement seems lower than it was a couple of years ago.
I’m not the right person to address anything there…far beyond me. But this line seems under-emphasized: “Maybe part of the blame is a lack of investment…in the XMPP developer community.”

The average person isn’t going to delve into the nuance of open source project structure. If I wanted to support the jellyfin ecosystem, I would probably expect that donating to the jellyfin project is sufficient.

One other thought. I was under the (possibly faulty) impression that the first login of a snikket client helps the omemo process. Have you logged in with the mobile client yet?
I’ve had mixed results with omemo shenanigans on snikket iOS. Not sure how well PWAs work on iOS, but I considered encouraging my users to try one over the native client.

What process did you follow to add keys on profanity? I remember it being a little confusing the first time I tried.
Hard to argue with Intel, but I run one of the asrock j3455 boards (with a full PCIe slot and 2 SATA ports) and powershell is reporting OSTotalVisibleMemorySize of 12228504.
Pretty sure I am running a j3455 with 12GB.

I switched. Not happy about it and will continue to consider it a factor in my next, but that will be years from now and I’m sure the list will be even smaller.
Amazon is moving away from Android. This move isn’t exactly surprising. It is disappointing though, imo. From my limited testing, I was able to side load an xmpp app on Android and message, voice call, video call seamlessly. In theory, the ability for developers of some types of apps to target Android and reach Windows without writing a touch of Windows-specific or accommodating code was a huge opportunity for open source developers to effortlessly reach cross-platform audiences.
I use rclone to mount the Linux NAS from my Linux and Windows computers - SFTP backend is usually fine. Then I am uniformly reading/writing the NAS files as the local NAS user.
